Dr. Karen Guerrero is a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals of all ages and has served patients in both military and civilian settings throughout her distinguished career. Her formal education and training include:
- University of California, Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz, CA) – BS, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
- Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (Bethesda, MD) – Doctor of Medicine
- Brooke Army Medical Center (San Antonio, TX) – Transitional Year Internship
- San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (San Antonio, TX) – Dermatology Residency
Dr. Guerrero is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). She served as a Staff Dermatologist at Darnall Army Community Hospital (Fort Hood, TX) and Tripler Army Medical Center (Honolulu, HI), and later at Dermatology Specialists of San Antonio. She also provided dermatologic care in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a Battalion Surgeon with the 1st Infantry Division.
Dr. Guerrero has published research in Cutis, Arthritis Care and Research, and the Journal of Special Operations Medicine, with areas of study including granulomatous skin disorders, immune-mediated skin disease, and adverse reactions to biologic therapy.
In her spare time, Dr. Guerrero enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors.
